The history of the School of Mathematics can be traced back to 1950. It became a school in 2018 and is now home to the departments of mathematics and applied mathematics, information and computation sciences, financial mathematics and computation.
The school currently has 62 full-time teachers, among whom there are 18 professors, 3 foreign professors (full time), and 24 associate professors. There are 35 young teachers under the age of 45, constituting a highly internationalized team with a reasonable faculty structure and balanced discipline distribution.
Since the establishment of the School of Mathematical Sciences, all the undertakings of the School have been developing steadily and with great achievements: the new postdoctoral station of the School was approved in October 2019. The project of "Financial Computing and Digital Engineering" has been approved as an engineering research center construction project for the construction of Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of education in November 2019. The major "Mathematics and Applied Mathematics" was selected as a national first-class major in December 2019.
We strive to form the discipline characteristics of mathematics in the fields of information mathematics, financial mathematics and biological mathematics, with aim in construction of ‘International Center for Applied Mathematics’ encompassing the following areas: cryptography and technology, digital financial risk calculation and measurement, distributed intelligent learning theory and computing, blockchain and security computing, computational biology…
