Delegation from the College of Science at the United Arab Emirates University Visits the School of Mathematics

On the afternoon of May 19, a delegation from the United Arab Emirates University, including Professor Maamar Benkraouda (Dean of the College of Science), Professor Adama Diene (Chair of the Department of Mathematics), and Associate Professor Jianhua Gong, visited the School of Mathematics at Renmin University of China. The meeting was chaired by Professor Jiang Hao, Vice Dean of the School of Mathematics. Party Secretary Ke Yuanyuan, as well as faculty representatives Professors Shen Dong, Zhang Liangquan, and Wang Shanwen, also attended. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Party Secretary Ke Yuanyuan extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation. Vice Dean Jiang Hao gave a detailed introduction to the school’s history, faculty strength, and disciplinary development. She further elaborated on the school’s current status of international exchange and provided a comprehensive overview of the possible approaches and areas of future collaboration between the two schools.
Professor Maamar Benkraouda, Dean of the College of Science at the United Arab Emirates University, commended the achievements of the School of Mathematics at Renmin University in disciplinary development. He noted that the two institutions could begin with small-scale collaborations and gradually deepen and broaden their cooperation. He suggested promoting joint research through online seminars and academic exchange activities, while also exploring the feasibility of student exchange programs and double-degree initiatives to provide students with an international learning platform.
Professor Adama Diene, Chair of the Department of Mathematics at the United Arab Emirates University, remarked that future collaboration could focus on cutting-edge fields such as data science, blockchain, and financial technology. He proposed sharing teaching resources, collaborating on research projects, co-hosting international conferences, and initiating scholar exchange programs.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the Laboratory of Distributed Artificial Intelligence at the School of Mathematics.
The School will continue to deepen its exchange and cooperation with the College of Science at the United Arab Emirates University, enhance the global vision of its faculty and students, promote disciplinary development, and cultivate mathematically talented individuals with strong global competence.
